There is a myth that business women are too busy working to spend time caring for their appearance. Just like your success in business, style success takes forward-planning and strategic action. It does takes time, but not as much as you might think provided you know where to focus.
Fashionista, Angels Espelt gives us her thoughts on how best to dress for business.
As a general rule, dressing to your proportions and ensuring you can move in comfort, will give you that aura of self-confidence. It may seem obvious, but dress according to the formality of the event, location and how your clients are dressed – and don’t forget to check the weather.
1. The first impression does matter!
Let your appearance show your character and personality with the clothes you are choosing. You know best which clothes you feel good in. You never know who you are going to meet during your business day.
2. Have a great pencil skirt
Skirts that attain such an enviable balance, regardless of body shape, woman always feel wonderful and elegant. A pencil skirt can be one of the few garments that perfectly extend between professional and super attractive line. It reaches the knee and has a clear cut lines and simple design, making it perfect for the job. Feel free to feel attractive by combining pencil skirts with suit jackets and heel and be proud of your womanhood, even in the office. But it also embraces your curves in the right places and even creates some in the places where you need them!
3. A tailored suit is an elegant symbol of sophistication, elegance and style
A delightfully feminine, tailored suit becomes a great alternative for evening wear. Seeing a stylish and attractive woman in a tailored suit shows she is independent, loyal and confident and always ready to talk business.
4. Never forget the importance of shoes
When running between business meetings uncomfortably high heels can certainly slow a busy person down. Find some great stilettos/heels that are comfortable. I prefer those made from natural leather with some platform (no more than 1 cm).
Accessorise are an important part of creating a successful business image. Choose a style that is classic and preferably feminine. Carefully chosen styling, makeup and accessories combined with the clothes are a great support for your business day.
And above all, be yourself !!!
